RegCure was developed by the very active software company ParetoLogic, of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. According to its published documentation, ParetoLogic specializes in “providing advanced security applications and performance tools for business and personal computer users”. They aim, they say, to make software that is both powerful and simple for the non-technical user to operate. With sales of over 3.5 million, and a million copies of RegCure in regular use, they appear to be meeting this standard.

ParetoLogic has designed RegCure to examine several different types of registry entry including COM/ActiveX Entries, Uninstall Entries, Font Entries, Shared DLLs, Application Paths, Help Files Information, Windows Startup Items, File/Path References, Program Shortcuts, Empty Registry Keys and File Associations. The user can select any number of these to scan.

Once scanning is complete, the user has the option to delete all of the invalid registry entries that RegCure has discovered. Information about each entry is provided, enabling the user to make a decision about whether to keep the entry (just in case). There is even an option to set RegCure to ignore selected entries in future scans.
